Maximalism, with its ‘more is more mood’, has definitely raised the popularity of pattern décor, which in turn helped to pave the way for terrazzo. Since last year, terrazzo is experiencing a revival and this year we are seeing its boom everywhere, from interior design to architecture. With its wide range of aesthetic options based on its size, type, and colour of stones, terrazzo offers countless possibilities to décor, either in a classic or contemporary style.
From walls to flooring, in commercial or residential environments, terrazzo tiles are taking over in vibrant colours, geometric shapes and opulent back and white. New granite-effect porcelain stoneware are allowing the creation of images in continuous surfaces, without interruption, giving new possibilities for creativity.
It is worth noting how terrazzo has been re-purposed to create striking graphical looks, to emulate images of natural mosaics and to add contrast in interior spaces – think about terrazzo irregular shapes combined with interiors’ rigorous geometric structures.
